Fitzgerald Contractors Limited receives prestigious International Safety Award

Fitzgerald Contractors Limited is proud to announce that we have been awarded an International Safety Award by the British Safety Council for our ongoing commitment to protecting our employees from injury and ill health at work during the 2024 calendar year.

This prestigious award highlights the dedication and hard work of our team in creating a safe and healthy work environment, and we are thrilled to have been recognised for our efforts. In particular, we have been honoured with a Distinction in the International Safety Awards 2025, a distinction given to just 212 organisations worldwide for their exceptional health and safety practices.

The International Safety Awards, now in their 67th year, celebrate organisations from around the world that have shown their commitment to preventing workplace injuries, work-related ill health, and promoting wellbeing and mental health. The awards recognise organisations that go above and beyond to ensure the safety and welfare of their employees.

In total, 789 organisations across multiple sectors – including construction, manufacturing, oil, gas, mining, power, and utilities were awarded in 2025. Winners were drawn from 45 countries, and 212 of these received the highly coveted Distinction status, which highlights a superior standard of commitment to safety and wellbeing.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated all of the winners, including Fitzgerald Contractors Limited, for their achievement. “Our winners have clearly made substantial and ongoing efforts to protect and improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone in their organisations,” Robinson said. “All the winners, and those who were shortlisted, have gone the extra mile in dedicating time, resources, and commitment to ensuring their workplaces remained healthy and safe during 2024.”

He continued, “It is our vision at the British Safety Council that no one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. By sharing the achievements of the winners of these awards, we hope to inspire other employers to follow their lead and give workers’ health, safety, and wellbeing the priority they rightly deserve.”
