Flying High at Birmingham Airport Infrastructure Project

Fitzgerald have been awarded a 16-week contract to carry out the decommissioning of temporary inland border facilities at a HMRC managed car park at Birmingham Airport and to return it back to its original use as airport parking.

With a value of £2.3m the scheme on behalf of Speller Metcalfe was procured via the Crown Commercial Services Construction Framework. Site activities have commenced across a 12-acre area that involves the removal of redundant infrastructure below and above ground and the full reinstatement of the car park to include resurfacing works across a 46,000m2 area. Works include forming raised footpaths and planted areas as well as installation of new external lighting, CCTV, signage, and entrance gates.
