Project Completion: Knights Lane Highway Improvements, Stratford-upon-Avon
We’re delighted to have successfully delivered a £1.135m Section 278 highway improvement scheme on Knights Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon, supporting the development of 270 new homes by Taylor Wimpey and Spitfire Homes.
This was our first award under the latest Warwickshire County Council Engineering & Construction Works Framework, and we’re proud to have completed the works on time, on budget, and to the satisfaction of WCC.
Key works included:
– Road widening and footway surfacing
– Street lighting and utility diversions
– New drainage infrastructure
– A safe, sustainable footpath link to Alveston C of E Primary School and Tiddington Village
– Community-focused landscaping
Throughout the project, we prioritised collaboration, safety, and access, working closely with WCC, local residents, utility providers, and even Stratford Town Football Club to minimise disruption and deliver real community benefit.
A key highlight? Engaging with Alveston C of E Primary School to raise awareness of site safety. The children created fantastic safety posters after our visit and one lucky winner took home a model digger, kindly donated by Morris Leslie Plant Hire.
At Fitzgerald, our difference lies in our people: their passion, expertise, and drive to deliver projects that go beyond the brief. We feel privileged to have helped lay the groundwork for a thriving new neighbourhood in Stratford-upon-Avon.
