A4023 Redditch Gateway Highways Upgrade

A4023 Redditch Gateway Highways Upgrade

Fitzgerald successfully delivered a high-profile highway upgrade contract on the A4023 Coventry Highway near Redditch on the Worcestershire and Warwickshire county boundary. The Redditch Gateway scheme was undertaken in a live environment for Warwickshire County Council and Stoford Developments. The scheme aim was to create new accesses on both sides of the A4023 carriageway under a Section 278 agreement, with the north side becoming a regional facility for multinational technology company Amazon. Valued at £3.6m, our scope of works over the 45-week duration involved construction of a fully signalised junction, extensive carriageway construction, drainage outfalls and service diversions.

The live high-speed dual carriageway dissected our works onsite which presented us with significant safety and logistical challenges. To overcome this we installed two compounds on the north and south sides removing the need to travel between the two compounds until traffic signals were installed; this created a safe and efficient work environment for our team. Fitzgerald are pleased to have delivered the project defect free and on time which is a testament the collective team work and efforts of our site team and supply chain partners.
