Redditch Gateway Scheme Successfully Delivered
Fitzgerald have successfully delivered a high-profile highway upgrade contract on the A4023 Coventry Highway in Redditch, Worcestershire. The Redditch Gateway scheme was undertaken in a live environment for Warwickshire County Council and Stoford Developments to create new accesses on both sides of the A4023 carriageway under a Section 278 agreement, with the north side becoming a regional facility for multinational technology company Amazon. Valued at £3.6m, our scope of works over the 45-week duration involved construction of a fully signalised junction, extensive carriageway construction, drainage outfalls and service diversions.
Contract Manager Morgan Courtney commented: ‘The live high-speed dual carriageway dissected our works onsite which presented us with significant safety and logistical challenges. We are pleased to have delivered the project defect free and on time which is a testament the collective teamwork and efforts of our site team and supply chain partners’.
