Fitzgerald is Shortlisted for the Construction News Specialists Awards 2020

We’re pleased to announce that the company has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor (subcontract up to £2m)’ category of the 2020 Construction News Specialists Awards, the only national awards that recognises the best specialist contractors from across the UK.

Our entry focuses on the wide range of civil engineering works Fitzgerald recently delivered at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire, home to a National Trust Grade 1 listed house. Aspects of our contract took place in areas designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and national nature reserve, with our construction methodology placing biosecurity at the heart of project delivery.

The shortlisting follows the first stage of judging which consisted of a written entry. We will now progress to the second stage of judging to give a face-to-face presentation in February 2020 to a panel from the UK’s largest and most significant clients, contractors and developers.

Fitzgerald Managing Director Nick Coley commented: ‘Being shortlisted from the hundreds of entrants in these awards is an excellent achievement and distinguishes Fitzgerald Contractors from our competitors. We look forward to the next stage of judging and the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our specialist capability as well as our team’s ability to innovate and offer additional value to our clients and stakeholders.’

The winners will be announced on 25th March 2020 at a ceremony in London where over 1,000 of the industry will meet for a night of recognition, celebration and networking. The full list of finalists and more information can be found at: specialistsawards.constructionnews.co.uk
