Project update: West Bromwich Market Stalls Replacement Scheme

Fitzgerald Contractors continue to make excellent progress in the delivery of a market stalls replacement scheme in High Street West Bromwich for client Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. The £450K scheme underlines the council’s commitment to the ongoing redevelopment and improvement of the town centre and key to this is upgrading to a modern and more attractive market.

Our scope of works over the 11-week construction period involves the removal of existing structures and reconstruction of six new market stall structures which has now been successfully completed. Site works are now focussing on installing new energy efficient solar powered roofs, whilst paving works have commenced to reinstate the public realm areas.
To date the scheme has been carried out with an excellent safety record whilst ensuring robust social distancing measures are adhered to throughout construction, the overall scheme is on target to meet its scheduled completion at the end of April.
