Archaeologists unearth clues to Worcester Cathedral’s past

Our team are busy on site at Worcester Cathedral where we have been appointed to deliver public realm enhancements to the College Yard at the Cathedral entrance. Before we started, archaeological enabling works unearthed some fascinating clues to the past. These included a small number of pre-Victorian skeletons, a Roman cobbled surface, and a medieval painted glass.

Reflecting the sensitivity of the scheme and the surrounding environment, we are working closely with the archaeologists to ensure all our works are undertaken with a watching archaeological brief. We are also utilising innovative ‘no dig’ methods of construction to minimise impacts. Watch this space for updates on progress and details of any more interesting findings!
