Delivering Safer, Greener Journeys in Sandwell

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of Phase 4 of the A457 Tollhouse Way cycleway enhancements for Sandwell MBC; a £1m scheme awarded through our place on Lot 3 of the Black Country Framework for Minor Works.

Building on the success of our Phase 2 works (2022–2023), this latest 24-week project has extended the dedicated cycleway by 1km from Rolfe Street Station to Soho Way Junction, with wider improvements to benefit all road users.

Delivered in a live traffic environment, the works included:
– Construction of a new cycle lane within grass verges
– Drainage and surfacing works (carriageway and footway)
– New lining, signage and landscaping
– Removal and replenishment of trees
– Full upgrade of the Tollhouse Way / Soho Way / Crockett’s Lane signalised junction, including a new staggered pedestrian crossing

We are passionate about delivering quality, adding value, and working collaboratively to leave a lasting, positive impact. This scheme not only enhances active travel infrastructure but also contributes to safer, more sustainable transport routes across the Black Country.

A huge thank you to our dedicated teams and project partners who helped make this happen.
