Centenary Square Birmingham Award
Fitzgerald Contractors are celebrating the contract award of the redevelopment of Centenary Square, Birmingham. The scheme will be delivered in Partnership with Bouygues UK for Birmingham City Council.
Fitzgeralds scheme value is over £5m, the 18 month project will redevelop the busy 16,000 sq.m area. The design for Centenary Square, which sits in front of the City of Birmingham Library, the REP Theatre and the International Convention Centre, was selected through an RIBA International Design Competition, which resulted in Graeme Massie Architects and its ‘Hall of Columns ‘design being selected.
Fitzgerald’s Managing Director Nick Coley confirmed, ‘Having worked closely with Bouygues UK and Birmingham City Council on the pre-construction stage of the project for the past 18 months it is fantastic to see the commencement of works on site. As a Birmingham based Civil Engineering business we are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project in the heart of our City ’.
