Fitzgerald employees happily stung for donations to worthy cause
Fitzgerald Contractors are pleased to continue supporting St. Mary’s Hospice in Birmingham and this week presented a cheque for £525.00. The funds were raised through Fitzgerald employee Steve William’s passion for beekeeping which saw him come up with the idea of selling jars of honey by harvesting it from his own bees. The honey came with Steve’s own unique label design and proved a huge hit amongst employees who purchased over 100 jars, with all of the proceeds going to St. Mary’s Hospice.
Steve said: ‘I got involved with last year’s Treecycling campaign through St. Mary’s Hospice which gave me the inspiration to go out and do something individually. I was overwhelmed with the interest and amount of people wanting to buy the honey. It’s a great charity and I was just pleased to be able to help in some way.’
This brings the total amount raised by Fitzgerald’s employees this year to over £70,000, ensuring that the Hospice Team can continue providing personalised support and end of life care.
