Completion of housing infrastructure at Kings Norton
Fitzgerald have successfully completed a £2m highway upgrade contract ahead of programme with the creation of a new signalised junction and widening of the existing A441 Redditch Road in Kings Norton, Birmingham. The formation of a new access road was successfully handed back early to our client Kier Living and was crucial to enable the new Aldi store to open with the road now serving both the retail and residential development currently being built.
The scope of works included utility diversions, earthworks, pavement and carriageway construction, new traffic signs and road markings. The successfully completed contract was undertaken in a live environment with significant traffic management measures planned and implemented to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic throughout the duration of the contract. This was achieved through the utilisation of our in-house planning team who effectively coordinated works, with elements of work such as surfacing being undertaken at night to mitigate disruption.
