International Safety Award Accolade for 27th Year in a Row

Fitzgerald Contractors are immensely proud to have gained recognition for our ongoing commitment to attaining exemplary health and safety standards by winning a Merit Grade in the 2022 British Safety Council International Safety Awards – which is a staggering achievement of 27 consecutive years of winning this award.

The Awards are the construction industry’s most prestigious for health and safety scheme and recognises Fitzgerald’s strong commitment to keeping our employees and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2021 calendar year.

The company received the award following an extensive site audit at our highway safety improvement scheme at Pershore Road, Edgbaston, for our long-standing client Birmingham City Council. The £2.1m scheme which is taking place in a live environment and has several key challenges including the requirement for significant statutory utility diversion works and ensuring the safety and movement of vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists.
