Fitzgerald Contractors raise £33,600 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice
Fitzgerald Contractors are delighted to have presented a cheque for £33,600 to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, in respect of donations raised over the past 12 months.
The monies were raised through the annual ‘Treecycling’ Scheme, the Fright or Flight abseil and Stair Rush event, a charity cricket match, and donations made by Fitzgerald Contractors in support of Birmingham St Mary’s, who are their chosen charity.
Of the Treecycling scheme, Nick Coley Managing Director said ‘The collection weekend is a real team effort, with our employees working alongside the Hospice Staff; it is great to know that every pound raised goes directly to Hospice services. We are already looking forward to next year’s campaign with the hospice staff, where we will again look to increase the scope of the campaign and the donations made’.
We are delighted to continue our relationship with St Marys hospice for whom we have now raised over £70,000, the Hospice does fantastic work and we look forward to working with them as our chosen charity’.
Charlotte Anson, St Marys Corporate Partnerships Manager confirmed:
‘Since 2013 Fitzgerald have chosen to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice; taking part in cricket tournaments and the Hospice’s unique corporate event, Fright or Flight (an abseil-stair-rush). Fitzgerald are main sponsor to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice’s Treecycling campaign. Each January, the Hospice collects real Christmas trees from your front door to recycle them in exchange for a donation. During Treecycling weekend, the Fitzgerald team arrive at 7am for a day’s collection of real Christmas trees, and over the last four years have collected thousands of trees!
‘Without Fitzgerald’s sponsorship and support, our annual Treecycling campaign would not be possible. There is a genuine and deep-seated commitment from the team to contribute to our Treecycling campaign. The combination of sponsorship, volunteers and vans from Fitzgerald is essential, the team understand what is needed to continually grow this project, and doing everything, they can to support the Hospice.
A truly responsible business, Fitzgerald are a pleasure to work in partnership with.’
