Following the recent completion of our highway improvement scheme at Carters Green in West Bromwich, West Midlands, we re-visited site to capture completion photographs.
The £1.2 million scheme on behalf of Sandwell Council included the installation of new granite paving setts across a 3,000m2 area, provision of seating, tree pits and street lighting along with the creation of a new public square and events area.
As part of the scheme’s aim to enhance the new square with public art, a specialist stonemason was commissioned to carve stone depictions of Carters Green’s historic clock face as well as a memorial stone of Reuben Farley, who contributed hugely to the area’s past.
